What type of window treatments for a huge window?
I have a huge window in our living room. It needs window treatments.The window measures inside the casing 8 feet wide and 4 feet tall.Right now we have boring vertical blinds that are falling apart. One piece is duct taped to the top.Our living room decor is masculine. Taupe walls with dark green furniture. Oak wood tones.Train pictures on the walls. We have a country rustic style of preference.We need something that will function to keep sun out because this is a west window.I have considered plain panels with grommet tops for ease of opening and closing.I am terrible at interior decorating, but great at following directions We have a fairly low budget. $100 $150. I can sew.
Any ideas for window treatments in screened-in patio?
We completely screened in our back patio. There are 12 screen window sections top and bottom. Each pane measures 28" x 36" . There is also a screen door added. Right now I have lace door panels on 2 of the top window sections using spring tension rods. The screen door also has a lace door panel. The other windows were completely covered on the exterior with 7ft outdoor rollup blinds. We want a little privacy and the lace curtains do OK. It gets a little dusty so we'd like to keep dust minimal from coming in. The rolllup blinds are a pain and can only be worked from the outside plus they don't hold up very well. There's a roof overhang so very little rain comes in. Any decorating ideas for these windows?? Prefer a more contemporary look. Thanks so much in advance.I forgot to mention that we did the floor in light earthtone linoleum. The wood was painted in a dark brown and ceiling is off white and the back wall is beige.I live in Hawaii so it can stay up all year round. Cost is no object. Love the creative & interesting ideas
Ideas for bay window window treatments?
I have a bay window that has very uncommon dimensions. It's impossible to find a rod that will fit to go all the way across so I have been trying to find window treatments that will fit in each window that look nice. I have no idea what to put in them. They are very tall, narrow windows. I have to buy special sizes no matter where I look. What kind of window treatment would look nice in a bay window?

I need window treatments for my apartment...?
I live in Tampa and i want to have window treatments of my apartment done. 2 bedrooms and one living room. I am just not able to pull it off. I bought stuff at Anna's linens but don't know how to make it work. Does anyone know a store where they can provide both the materials and the installation...for a reasonable price? I consulted Jc Penney and they told me $500.
Painting room... What should I use for window treatments?
I have a room about 15'x15' and I'm painting it a Mint Green Color.... I have vertical blinds and every other slat is painted grey and a light blue with the valence grey... Should I repaint the blinds and if so what color?... I also thought about un clipping the blinds and putting up some red wine sheer curtain under the valence.... which then means no blinds so I would have to find blinds to put in the windows.... I have pink carpet and natural wood trim.... What would work?????
Can i use two different window treatments for one room?
in my living room i have one very large window about 68x72 and another window that is just around 30x68 there were custom vertical blinds on both i opted for vertical fabric blinds on the large window but can not find the same blinds for the other window. what should i do? the fabric is a dark coco i was thinking bamboo with a roman shade maybe a pattern curtain? please help i have no idea what would look good.
We have bought three window treatments and none of them have blocked out enough light! Suggestions?
We have bought three window treatments now for the same window and we are still getting too much light coming through at dawn. It's actually too bright even in the middle of the night because of the street lights, and I lived in the country for ten years so I'm accustomed to complete darkness for sleeping. We also need this room dark at mid day because our toddler will not nap unless it's dark.What we have tried so far Levelor roller shades. We put them inside the frame and of course massive amounts of light is streaming through the sides. Recently I heard that we should try an outside mount and get a roller shade that measures two inches wider than the window frame would this block out all the light, really, or would some still come through? We also have a curtain rod with long curtains hanging from it, in addition to the roller shade but light is coming through the sides of that too.Has anyone else had this problem, and what product solved it, or what did you end up doing?
Window Treatment Installation..?
I'm relatively new to the whole " setting up house" thing, and so I apologize in advance if this seems like a " duh " sort of question. I recently purchased a gorgeous bedding set that included all of the matching valances, panels, and tiebacks that I'll need to make over my room, and I want to get the window treatments up as quickly as possible However, my problem is that I have NO idea how to go about this??? lol.Most people I know have no clue either, they usually buy cheap curtains and put them up on those hideous, equally cheap white metal curtain rods. I actually don't even have THOSE in my room...there is nothing there, except for a bracket on each side of the windows which I assume means the previous owners had installed something, but then also took it down..damn Somebody please advise me on how to set up my window decor. I bought some nice curtain rods and hardware, the kind that are more decorative in nature and have an ornate design to the ends. That is the type I'll need assistance with. And, I'm not sure if it matters, but I have valances AND panels, not just simple curtains. Since they obviously can't all go on the same rod...what do I do about that also??FYI Tried looking all of this up on the internet, to no avail. Need some serious interior help here Thanks
What kind of window treatment doesn't require a screw?
I just moved into an apartment complex where we can't put screws in the wall. They have horizontal blinds in the window in my room, but they are quite old and terrible and offer little privacy. Are there any ways to hang window treatments that don't involve screws or nails into the wall? What kind of windows or coverings are possible?Thanks

I need some ideas for window treatments but something more modern. in the morning room i have 5 long windows in a row and for the family rooom i have 4. i need some ideas for what curtains to get. the morning should be something green and the family room something silver and black. please help me and it you can please find pictures thank youuu
