Need help fixing my wood panel walls. They have mold at the bottom and i cant replace them. Is it fixable?

Decorating with wood panel walls?
I'm moving into an apartment and every room has wood panels on the walls. They're a dark chocolate and the carpet is a cream color. I can't cover them up, I've just got to work around them. I can hang things up with like nails on the wall, but as far as painting, thats a no go. I'm on a budget and I need ideas for decorating a living room, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, and dining room.

HELP! How do I fix a newly painted wood panel walls blisters and bubbles?
I just painted one of my bathrooms wood paneling with Behr premium paint and prime water based color semi gloss. It took to coats to fully cover everything. I just took a shower again here, and two blisters bubbles came up on both the ceiling. I'm pretty sure the wood was stained and has a cover of shellac over it. How do I fix this problem? Can I just sand the problem area as they arise, and prime it with an actual primer then just re paint? Should I give it a couple weeks showering regularly and see where else it starts to blister and go from there? Do you think I'm going to have to remove all the paint in the entire room and start from scratch? Having to sand everything with a medium grit sandpaper to get all the paint to properly adhere to the wall? What else can I do?This is all just coming from what I think that I need to do. Which will probably be wrong considering that I should have know to have this problem fixed before I painted to begin with. I have no idea where to start to try and fix this.sand down the entire room?
Can I cover my wood panel walls with gypsum board? I don't want to damage them.?
I have basically read every question on here about this and I haven't found a solution yet I want to remodel my parents' basement, which unfortunately is covered with wood panel walls. I HATE it. The only way to modernize it is to get rid of it, or paint it. However, my parents are VERY against painting the wood. Apparently the wood paneling is " great quality" ... thick with nice grooves, knots from the pine, etc. Its not cheap.kind of like this picture, except with knots heritagewideplankflooring.com gfx main image cwp.jpgSO the problem is, they don't want to tear it down or paint it, but think its okay to cover it up. Not with wall paper or fabric, or by pasting up the drywall mud. I guess they don't want to do any permanent damage to the wood. But possibly with gypsum board or something nailed over top. Is that possible? Or is that just stupid? Any suggestions? Please help I don't want to give in to having to look at those walls anymore Thanks

I'm looking at an apartment to potentially rent. It's a great place except for one thing...the walls are a dark wood. I seriously doubt the landlord would let me paint over the natural wood, so I need to find a way to work around this. Hi I'm decorating painting a friends apartment and I'm wondering if anyone knows anything about painting Remember those old laminate wood panelled walls from the eighties? Well half of the walls are covered in it. I want to do a good job with this space, I was considering gluing material to the laminate but I didn't even know if THAT would stick.
