Need help with hard-wiring under cabinet lighting...?
I have a switch that operates my garbage disposal with a plug under the sink. There is also a wall outlet about 14 inches from that said switch.I want to add two more switches to that switch box, making a total of 3 switches . One will be used for the under cabinet lighting. The other will be used for the over the sink lighting.Now, my question is.... HOW do I do that? I know how to install a switch.. but how do I get POWER to the switches. Can I tap into the outlet that is 14 inches away?Any help would be more than appreciated.I understand I would have to redo the sheet rock, boxes and fish the wires.My question is HOW do I get power from the outlet socket box to the switch. Do I just tap into the hot wire and run the new one over? Do I tap into the hot and ground and run them both over?
Replacing under cabinet lighting?
Our house came prewired for undercabinet lighting and has the super hot halogen lights. I am trying to switch them to LED, All the stores carry are plug in type, not hardwire. The guy told me just to cut off the plug and wire them. I did, and it worked, however now I have no where to place the ground wire that comes out of the cabinet. Is it ok to leave these ungrounded?
How much under cabinet lighting do I need?

My under cabinet lighting in my kitchen won't turn on?
They have a pad that you tap to turn them on...one tap is low, two taps is medium and three high. 6 lights strung together plugged in to the wall On the second tap I saw a bright flash of light and now none of them will turn on. I reset the plug and nothing. I checked the circuit breaker box and nothing. Usually when one light burns out it just does and the others stay on. Any suggestions as to what caused this and how I can fix it? Thank you

I have been tasked with installing under cabinet " puck" lights in a kitchen.These lights require a transformer.I know that the line side 120v HAS to be spliced in an accessible junction box.Would it be okay to splice they load 12 volt out in free air with out a junction box?I have looked in NEC.Does anybody know the code for this?
How do I convert under cabinet lighting to work off direct wire?
I am interested in using some under cabinet lighting, but it is meant to plug into a wall socket for power. I have direct wires run throughout my kitchen to have everything on the same switch and breaker.Is there some sort of converter I can use to make this possible? There is more than enough amperage to power the kitchen.It is the converter I was most curious about, and I have done basic electrical wiring, 3 way switches, etc. I understand now I just need an ac dc converter, but do you have an example link so something that might work? I My kitchen has two separate areas with two separate switches wiring for under cabinet lighting. I can run two converters, one in each area, to convert from AC to DC to run these lights, but just need a little direction on what converter I could use.
How to connect under cabinet lighting to the main kitchen light/switch?
I have got LED undercabinet lights i would like to connect to my main light circuit in my kitchen. I would like it so when the main kitchen light is turned on the LED cabinet lights also come on. I know I have to run 1.5mm cable behind the cabinets up to the ceiling under the floorboards above the kitchen, however I cannot find a wiring diagram of how these cables connect at this point??

Is there anyone who makes a Tiffany style or stained glass style under-cabinet lights?
I just moved to a wonderful home. The dining room is huge and has tiffany lighting. There is a 15' serving counter with overhead cabinets between the kitchen and dining room. The serving counter is lit by wired in white under cabinet fluorescent fixtures. Being at eye level they are blinding, glaring and UGLY I'd like to find similar light fixtures but with a pretty stained glass look or Tiffany look shades to snap in over the bulbs. Any ideas?
Adding under cabinet lights?
we want to add undercabinet lights to our kitchen...we want hardwired ones though to avoid messy wiring and also so that all we need to do is turn on a regular switch. is it possible to tap off of a power outlet to install the lights, or do i have to run a new line? if i can tap off of it, how do i do it? thx

Under cabinet lighting in kitchen?
Transformers keep burning out on all cabinet lighting. It's a 12v system with 12 volt 20 watt xenon bulbs installed in all them .There a total of 6 lighting units . Why are my transformers burning out .The power is 120 coming off all 6 fixtures . No voltage drop . 1 switch controls all lights in kitchen it appears that nothing else is on that circuit .What am I overlooking ?
