Why are my landscape lighting bulbs blowing constantly?
They typically last just over a week before they blow and are only running 3 hours a night. I have a 300 watt transformer and 8 12 watt lights, which is not even close to the maximum for my transformer. I am running one straight line that is apprx. 150' long with 6 fixtures and a 12' line with 2 fixtures. The box has clean connections, no bits of wires hanging out or anything like that..Definitely appreciate any ideas

With landscape lighting, is it better to have line voltage w/ built in transformers?
With landscape lighting, is it better to have line voltage w built in transformers in the fixtures, or use a transformer? My project includes 4 " brick lights" which will be installed in brick columns at the entry and driveway gates.I have seen some of these LED brick lights which include a built in transformer, for use with line 110 voltage. I have looked at 12 volt transformers and I actually wouldn't know where to place the thing. Obviously, it would have to get plugged into an outside outlet and be hung close to the outlet, on the house. To me, that just isn't a clean installation.

Low wattage landscape lighting?
Mine has gotten to the point it will not come on automatically. I have to reset the switch every night for it to come on. Is this a problem with the photocell?

How to extend my landscape lighting wires?
The title says it all. I'm attempting to modify my existing landscape lighting but my main issue is that I have hardly any electrical experience. My current project is trying to move the lights farther away from my house to shine on my back wall or a tree, showing the size of my yard. My original plan was just to cut and splice the existing wire connecting it to a longer wire that will stretch the distance, therefore not having to dig up the old wire and tear up my yard. Upon purchasing the wire and doing a little research I found these round connectors that are sold. Does this mean that these connectors have to be used? Or can my original plan of splicing and electric tape work? Keeping in mind that I can't afford to hire someone and I believe it's a " low voltage" landscape system with about 8 lights on it. Thank you in advance to anyone willing to help.

Is there a halogen equivalent for a tea light? I have low voltage halogen landscape lighting.?
I want to add a very small flickering light to my Japanese lantern. Currently place remove battery operated tea light not a good idea.

Good sources for DIY solar LED landscape lighting?
I'd like to wire LED lighting to put under a lip at the top of my new retaining wall. A lot of the actual landscape light fixtures I've found are big fancy expensive. I'd like to wire something that will be solar powered and have the effect of strip lights either by buying inexpensive waterproof LED strips and connecting them to solar power, or by going one step deeper and wiring individual LEDs to suit along the edge. I've found dealextreme.com for some parts, but does anyone know of a good resource for instructions on assembling this type of thing?

How can I convert an electric table lamp to a LOW VOLTAGE lamp that I can wire into my landscape lighting?
I'm trying to find out where to buy the needed materials for the conversion... can't find them on line. I have the wire, I just need the socket for a low voltage light bulb probably 50 watt or less... HELP

Voltage Drop on landscaping lighting?
Backyard 12v landscape lighting 12 10w path and 7 15w spots. Front 6 path and 2 spot. Each on different circuit in a 600w transformer. Front works GREAT Back, not so much. First half in back on good, latter half very dim. Length of that back line is about 170 ft from transformer to last path light. I'm wondering if there is any way to increase the output of the distal lighting ie will increasing distal wattage to 20w help, or hurt? . I'm not sure upping the transformer will help to justify the cost. HELP
