Is there a product to make stainless steel sinks shine like new?
I manage apartments with stainless steel sinks. When I inspect an apartment after it is made ready and the cleaning lady is finished, there is a chalky residue on the stainless steel sink. I can wipe it with a damp cloth and it will shine up again but as soon as it dries the chalky appearance comes back. Someone suggested that it is because the painters wash their brushes in the sink but I'm not so sure. I have washed brushes in the sink in my own home and this doesn't happen to me. I don't want the painters to wash their brushes out on the grounds and it isn't practical for them to have to go to the shop every time they wash their brush. Any ideas?

My husband and I are buying a house where every last inch of the kitchen, the sink, the faucet, the counters, the appliances, everything is white. I love the look of it, it's beautiful, but the faucet needs to be replaced, and I've heard so many good things about stainless steel. From a design standpoint, would it look funny to have a steel sink and faucet, or should I keep the sink we have and just put in a new white faucet?

How can I remove a stain on my stainless steel sink?
Its quite an oxymoron I know. I am a renter and moving out next month. 2 stains mysteriously showed up on my stainless steel sink that I cannot get rid of. My daughter seems to have been struck with amnesia as to how that stain got there so I have no idea what caused it. I thought the steel was stainless but apparently not. One stain quite closely matches that of a pressurized container lid such as a keg perhaps. I can only guess that this stain is the product of a temperature change that would occur when exposed to a very cold temperature. Is this a permanent mark on the sink or can I get rid of it. I've tried bleach, sos pads, magic eraser, lemon juice and heat. Any thoughts?baking soda paste did not work, comet does not work. going to go get that barkeepers secret stuff now. Looks like this is from exposure to extreme cold like dry ice I think.

How can you tell what gauge a stainless steel sink is after it's been installed?
I don't trust our contractor because he's lied about other things and now I have a different sink than what we agreed to and I don't believe it's a quality sink. I think it's a 20 or 22 gauge and not 18. How can I tell? I cannot find the sink online anywhere.
