Changing out a double bowl sink for a single bowl kitchen sink. How can we use existing preformed countertop?
The single bowl is around seven inches less in width. Haven't even measured yet, it is still in the truck. Can we put ceramic tile around it or something like that...or should we get new counter top?
Can i legaly use 2 separate traps to connect a double bowl sink into 50mm?
The reason I need to use two traps is because of a lack of space. there is a bin under the left one and an insinkerator on the right one. Normaly i would run the insinkerator to the left bowl using an insinkerator adaptor kit and use one trap. I couldn't find anything regarding this in the AS3500, but was knocked back by an inspector at the final for this. Whereas an inspector in another shire recommended the system. Does anyone know of a section in the AS3500 that might allow it? Possibly using an AAV between the two traps?
Double bowl sink, left side drains OK - right side is slow. Both tied to same drain line below - why ?
Left side is installed w a garbage disposal and right side is a standard strainer. Both tie to a single PVC drain line below that drains to the right within 24" of both a dry stack riser and drainage to city services. Water to the left side drains OK but w gurgling on right side strainer. Right side is just slow. I think it might be a lack of adequate air supply to the right side. Will an air gap between l drain and r drain help ?All the PVC pieces over to the old steel dry wet stacks are brand new.
Value of cast iron, double bowl sink, with counter space at each end. casting date may 1955?
