My boyfriend and I plan on moving out next year and would like to start purchasing items for our apartment house. Family members have been asking how they can help and for us to write down a $30 cap Christmas list... What are some GOOD quality necessities we will need that can be bought individually for about $30?What types of items can we get away with getting cheaply toaster and what items should we get top of the line food processor ?Thanks in advance

We bought a new refrigerator last spring. Looking to replace the others now. Is it important as for resell for the appliances brand name to match?

Buying microwave, coffee pot, toaster, food processor, can opener, blender stuff like that. Which is best or are they about the same?
I burned the cord of one of my kitchen appliances by letting it touch the stove and now the wire is exposed...?

currently i'm renting a room in NY. i want to move out into studio so that i can use kitchen freely. landlord likes me as a tenant and wants me to keep staying and suggested that i move into other bedroom of same building which is huge for a bedroom and turn part of it into kitchen putting stove and sink cabinet and use that big bedroom as like a studio it has bathroom as well . my concern is is it legal? if it's illegal, do i get into trouble too, or just landlord? if getting a gas line is too much of an issue, we should just get a small electric stove. has anyone done anything similar? what kind of work did it involve and how much did it cost? i'm not paying for it. but still i'm just wondering. thanks

Cover on kitchen appliances in the UK?
We have three items that we wish to cover a Zanussi Cooker purchased in 2004 , a fridge freezer purchased 2010 and an Indesit W123 washing machine purchased in 2002 . We looking to get all three items covered on the same policy in the event of a breakdown. The age of the washing machine is giving us problems, because most cover plans want the kitchen appliances to be less than eight years old. Could anybody suggest a UK cover plan for these three items.
Are new kitchen appliances these days really only expected to last 3-5 years??? Seriously?
The salesguy told us that is true of ANY brand on refrigerators, dishwashers, washers, ovens, etc. He said " they don't make em like they used to " He's gotta be trying to pull one on me Funny thing though, he did try to push the cheaper of two models, when he almost had me on the more expensive model.

I've been using the same kitchen appliances for about 6 years or so. One thing that came to mind do ovens both conventional kitchen ovens and microwave ovens deteriorate enough over long periods of time to warrant checking or replacing for safety concerns?And what about fridges refrigerators for you Americans and freezers? From my limited knowledge there are no real hazards, but I know little about how they work.
