can anyone recommend a wire free house alarm , there are so many and the reviews also vary quite a lot , l live alone in a three bed semi a 2 or 3 PIR system would be all l need ,,thanks

I live in an apartment complex and all of the units have alarm systems installed. We never activated ours and have lived here 2 years. I never touched it really and it usually has a green light on for " ready" and for " system." Well those lights were on today but it was beeping every few seconds and really starting to annoy me. It might have been because it's been raining storming pretty bad so maybe the power flickered? although i've had lights on and haven't noticed anything So I went and looked at it to figure out why it was beeping and tried pressing a button to turn it off and it didn't work so i pressed another, didn't work, and then pressed another and the red light for " armed" came on and the green lights went off. I am so nervous now that I armed my system and I am home alone so I don't want it to go off while i'm here by myself I called my boyfriend and he will be coming home soon but will it go off if he comes through the door? Keep in mind we never activated it or whatever and so we don't have a code. And, to make matters worse, it's still beeping
