My basement is only 83" from floor to the bottom of the ceiling joists. Pocket doors and frames call for 84.5" if i'm not mistaken. Can this still be done, or do I need to use regular swing doors? The doors would slide perpendicular to the ceiling joists.
Can I install 2 sets of double pocket doors side by side?
I am finishing my basement, and want a wall dividing the TV area with the rest of the basement. I voted for two sets of French Doors, but the wife wants pocket doors. Is it possible to install 2 sets of double pocket doors side by side in the same wall. My thought is to simply make the wall " thicker" and have the pocket areas overlap each other, but I'm not sure if that's possible. Thanks in advance for the help Thanks for all the help. What we were looking for was simply an aesthetic divider, simply in looking ahead towards resale. I had thought of two sets of French Doors, side by side....4 doors total. The wife didn't like that idea, and wondered about pocket doors. After explaining further to her about some of the issues mentioned here, we have decided that if any doors are put in, they will be French Doors. Thanks for all the input

We are building a house and want frosted glass pocket doors for all bedrooms, bathrooms and office. We like the look of them and the fact that they save space. The foundation is in right now and we are staerting the design process and want to incorporate them, but want to ask anyone if they have any information about them, things that we might not think about that might come from experience. I also want to know can you use jsut a regular door with no doorknob hole, or are there specific doors you need to use for these? Pocket Doors? Info anyone?
