How do you get out of those walk-in tubs without making a mess?
I've been thinking about one of those space saving upright bath tubs with the door on the side for my elderly mother. But my daughter asked me a good question. How do you get out of the thing without water going all over the floor? If you have to let the water out first, that would just leave you cold and with all your own dirt settled right back on you. i looked into the FAQs on a few of the company websites, but none of them addressed it.

Should my parents replace their bath tub with a walk in tub?
My father is 82 and not at all strong or steady on his feet, but is stubborn and still prefers to stand up for showers in their current bath tub. He doesn't even want to use a seat. My mother is more able bodied and prefers to soak in a bath. We have been offered a good deal on the sale and installation of a walk in tub, but I'm afraid they won't be able to get used to the change, mainly the smaller space in which to bathe. On the other hand, I'm very afraid that my dad will one day fall in their current tub and hurt or kill himself. I am looking for opinions and pros and cons from people who have walk in tubs or have some knowledge or experience with them. Thanks
Is $18.5K overpriced to install a Senior walk in Tub/Shower?
My 80 year old Aunt wanted to get a walk in tub installed in her small bathroom. They replace the old standard tub with a walk in standard one person walk in door tub with water jets, safety bar, and seat. They gave her a price of $18,500. they are already a month overdue for installation when she called me and told me their price. I tolked to several people that said the price is outrageous, that's more than a bathroom remodel, a similar standard size tub even with all the bells & whissles is about $4K or less contracters price & add 4 5K installation. Is $18,500 overpriced and are they taking advantage of her?
