I'm replacing my tub surround with a double shower stall. I need a heavy duty, strong material that won't break. Any suggestions? I've done some reading, but it seems everybody has a different opinion, gelcoat fiberglass, acrylic fiberglass, etc.Granite, stone, tile, etc is out because it's not in my budget. I'm talking about one of those one piece shower stalls, but the length & width of a standard tub. My mother had both the bathrubs in her house break in the bottom and in my previous house my tub did also. I just can't replace shower & flooring again in a couple years.
If you ordered a shower stall for your bathroom, would you expect that the door was part of the unit or would?
you think it needed to be ordered separately? We are having a dispute with a builder who said we didn't order the shower doors we need, but he never told us it didn't come as part of the unit.This is not a tub that a shower curtain is suitable for. The unit is open down to the floor. Wouldn't every unit need a door made specifically to fit it?

I have tried everything ...peroxide & water, baking soda, vinegar nothing works I really do not like using bleach, but it is the only thing that gets all the mold out of my grout and soap scum off my walls. Anyone have any other solutions??

How to protect the drywall above my shower stall?
I just recently put in a square shower stall in one of my rental properties. Its an all one piece fiberglass shower, however the stall is shorter than average does not come with a roof . The shower head will have to be placed above the stall in an area of drywall in order for the water to hit the person showering at a decent angle. What can I do to protect the drywall above the shower stall from water damage? I'm looking for the cheapest and quickest solution. Tiling can be expensive time consuming, so if possible I want to stay away from that. Thanks
How to clean an older shower stall?
I purchased a 15 yr old mobile home and want to rent it out. The shower is coated in some kind of crud and I can't get it off. It's made of plastic and I need something to cut through whatever is on it. So far nothing has worked.

Installing a new shower stall?
I'm installing a 48" x36" shower stall. The existing water and drain line needs moved over about 3 feet. a faucet and shower door installed as well. How long would it take to hook this up? A friend of mine wants $200 bucks to do it if I help. What do you think or should I just do it myself. We will be using my tools since he doesn't have any. The unit is a base, two sides and back. My friend has worked in the plumbing field in the past. I have done this type of work, just may take me a little longer than him.
