Installing a corner bath tub, drop in tub I want to push against wall, will this work?
Installing a corner bath tub, fiberglass. Appears to be for platform, but want to push against wall?I bought a used fiberglass corner tub with the seat in the back corner. It appears to have been set into a framework with tile trimmed all around the edge. The tubs upper edge deck area where the faucet mounts is about 4" wide with a smoth radius bend down and about a 2" lip pointed down. There is a remenance of silicone about mid way on this edge where the tile used to butt up to this edge when it was dropped into it's frame work and then tiled around the tub. I want to set the tub the same way, but push it up against the back wall so the two back edges will have the Hardi backer and tile blend into the top deck of the tub, covering up the radius and edge that rolls down. Unlike a normal steel cast tub that has the trip edge that rolls up, this edge rolls down... but I believe the Hardi backer & tile will be enough to blend into the top edge of the tub, thus you won't see or create a valley in the corner.Can I push this tub too the wall? I will secure with screws, level etc... and then trim the front edges out like a normal drop in tub would be with tile up against the trim edge as it was before. I am real tight with space and need it against the wall... I hope this made sense... but in the simplest form, I want to take a drop in tub and tile the back two sides in like a normal tub would be. Your thoughts...

How do I measure a corner bath tub's width?
I need to replace a corner bath tub in my master bath and am trying to figure out how to measure the the tub. Obviously, it's not a square but more of a pentagon five sided shape. looking at new bathtubs, i've noticed they are typically listed by width. How do I measure the width of my current tub? please be as detailed as possible. thanks
