What's the best way to re-install a ceramic soap dish?
I've tried the adhesives recommended by Lowes Bldg. Supply, but my ceramic soap dish fell off the wall a few days later. I tried cementing it between the tiles with sheet rock compound & that lasted until someone put a little weight on it. Behind the dish is sheet rock. What is the best method?I did use that method, John. Problem is, The tile was installed 20 years ago. I have no idea what adhesive was used or what I should use now.
My soap dish came off the shower wall and took some of tile with it and now there is like a hole in the wall..?
...how can I replace the tile if there is nothing there to attach the tile to? Is there a way to put a waterproof base of some kind in that hole?? I realize I will have to take out a few extra tile in order to replace the four that came out. And when I touch inside of that hole,crumbles come out into the tub not sure if that's drywall or not I need to fix this asap so water won't go inside that hole when we shower.
I have a cream shower curtain with brown and cream towels, brown soap dish. ?
I am wondering what color bath mats rugs I should use..brown or cream? The tiles on my bathroom floor are more of a grey with cream and tan accents in it. What do you think?
How do I install a soap dish in an already tiled shower?
I want to install a soap dish or a corner shelf in my shower. The wall is already tiled. I have been reading other answers about removing tiles, but I would only need to remove about 1 3 of 3 4 tiles so it hardly seems worth it since most posts say I will damage the wall .The only soap dishes shelves I have been able to find are made with a lip. The lip is supposed to be installed against the drywall so that the actual dish shelf will lie flush with the outside if the tile. Is there a way to install these without having to take out tiles?Are there any products out there that do not have the lip so that they can be installed on top of the existing tiles?Thanks so much for reading my post. I am getting tired of using a shower caddy or suctioned cupped dish which falls down at least once a week. I look forward to any help Thanks all three for the advice. Rob, I will keep it in mind. I am hoping for an easier solution before I have to get so involved. ata, I did a search for flush mounted shelves dishes, but it resulted in a lot of recessed shelves. Any chance you have an item number and manufacturer?Marcia, my parents had one of those when I was growing up. It seemed to always get soap scum on the shelves and mold around the bottom. Granted this was a while ago, so it is something I can definately look into. Looks like I have a lot of research to do Thanks again for all of the ideas
Where can I buy ceramic soap dishes (for corner of shower)?
I'm looking for a ceramic soap dish that can go into the corner of a shower but I don't know where to buy them.I've already been to ikea, canadian tire, sears, home depot, and rona, and didn't find any. Anyone know where else I can go? Any specialty stores or online stores or anything that would definitely have this?

Ceramic Tile Soap dish replacement.?
Hi all. I am moving out of my house in North Ryde. I have to replace a ceramic soap dish in the bathroom. I have removed the old one, dimensions 80 X 150 and need to buy a replacement. I have discovered this is a tad hard to do cause their hard to find. I've tried Ikea, Freedom furniture, Bed Bath and beyond, Harvey Norman and Bunnings. Is there anywher else i could possibly get one? Im desperate. Thanks A
Soap Dish Broke--HELP?
We were going to simply remove the ceramic soap dish and replace it with a non destroyed one. However, when the soap dish came out, it there was all this weird ceramic " great stuff" like material holding it to the wall. There IS no wall behind the soap dish. I have nothing to attach it to There is one stud on the right side of the square hole, but none of the other sides have anything to attach a piece of drywall to. And I don't know how we'd do it even if there WERE 4 studs surrounding the hole.We just moved into this house 2 months ago. The previous owners were retarted in home repair. We keep finding half done jobs made to LOOK good, but not to hold up well. Any help would be appreciated.Crystal
